Kuwait City
Kuwait City is the capital and largest city of Kuwait and has a metropolitan population of about 3.4 million people. It is located on the coast of the Persian Gulf and serves as the country's political, economic and cultural centre. The city was founded in 1613, when small fishing and trading communities settled along the coast and gradually developed into an important port. Another important date in its history is 1961, when Kuwait gained independence from the United Kingdom and Kuwait City became the capital of the new state. Today, the city is famous for its modern architecture and impressive skyline filled with skyscrapers, including the iconic Al Hamra Tower. One of its best-known landmarks is the Kuwait Towers, a group of water towers that also serve as tourist attractions with restaurants and observation decks. Kuwait City is home to the Kuwait National Museum, traditional markets and modern shopping centres. The city also offers beautiful public beaches, such as Marina Beach, Messilah Beach and Shuwaikh Beach. Scientific Center of Kuwait
The Scientific Center is one of Kuwait’s leading educational and recreational attractions, located in the Salmiya district on the Arabian Gulf.
