Faro
Faro is a city in the south of Portugal. It is the capital of the Algarve region. The number of inhabitants is 46,000. The Algarve has less than half a million inhabitants. Faro is a medieval city whose origins date back to the 8th century. B.C. In 713 it was conquered by the Moors. In 1249, the city was recaptured and became part of the Kingdom of Portugal. Here you can visit the remains of the Byzantine fortifications, medieval monuments such as the Estói Palace, the small Sé de Faro cathedral. Lagos

Vilamoura and Almancil
Vilamoura is a coastal town with many resorts and a port, it is one of the most famous resorts in southern Portugal. On the road from Faro is the little town of Almanciland is also known for its gastronomy and Church of Sao Lourenco there is a beautiful gilded altar from the 18th century.
