Dortmund is a city in Germany, located in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Ruhr metropolitan region. It has a population of about 590,000 residents and covers an area of approximately 280 square kilometers. Dortmund was first mentioned in 882 AD and later became an important Hanseatic trading city in the Middle Ages. During the 19th century, the city grew rapidly as a center of coal mining, steel production, and brewing. Today, Dortmund is internationally known for its football club Borussia Dortmund and the stadium Signal Iduna Park. The main shopping street, Westenhellweg, is one of Germany’s busiest pedestrian streets. Cultural attractions include the German Football Museum, the Dortmund U-Tower, and the Museum of Art and Cultural History. Unique attraction is the city’s blend of industrial heritage with modern green parks and lakes.Dortmund’s cuisine features traditional German dishes, sausages, pretzels, and local beer.

Münster
